Electric Eyes

These are pictures of our electric eyes in our Bridgeport facility.  Essentially, they sort the good beans from the bad beans as they compare each bean to a certain colored backdrop.  The backdrop depends on whether we are running Pinto beans or Great Northern Beans.  We have one guy running these at all times.  He does an excellent job and keeps the Eye Room running smoothly and cleans on a daily basis.  We also have a set of eyes in our Gering facility over in our East Mill.

Postings

Hi All~I haven't forgotten about you!  We have been staying pretty busy.  I also have to admit, my new camera is in the shop again, unfortunately.  I am pretty sad about this because this is the second time I've had to send it off.  I really like the camera itself, but my lifestyle is hard on it with dust and dirt.  :)  Wouldn't change it though!  :)

Albin Days

It was an absolutely gorgeous day when we were in Albin!  We set up a booth at Albin Days Farm Show and got to talk with some bean growers in the area.  We had one new member join our coop!

Salute to Agriculture

Today is National Ag Day!  Salute to Agriculture and all of our wonderful farmers, ranchers, and everyone else that supports this wonderful industry that we get to serve.  I am thankful each day for agriculture and being able to serve our great nation in this way.

We have come a long way from the horse and plow through the mechanization age and now GPS and variable rate technologies.  It is truly amazing the advances that we have seen over the years.  Above is a 36 row planter!

I am honored to serve such an amazing industry!

Please feel free to add comments about agriculture today as well as share your story!  It would be great to hear the traditions!

Success!

We had a great morning Tuesday at the Civic Center with our growers.  Thank you to our speakers from the University for presenting.  Also, thank you to Randy Mattson and Manual Sarraff who traveled to be with us.  We hope this meeting was valued by our growers as we strive to present you all with as much relevant information as we can.  Please contact us if you have any further questions.
